UX Research
Creating a journey map to address customer needs
|
Challenge: The Cox Media Group radio unit wanted to evolve digital aspects of the brand and connect with consumers needs.
Role: UX Information Architect
Responsible for: Creating a journey map for how consumers interact with the product, contextual micro-moments across platforms, pain points, and opportunities for innovation.
Process:
- I conducted stakeholder interviews, documented the findings, and analyzed the research for actionable insights
- I held brainstorming sessions with the UX team to review and discuss the research and data analysis, and discuss pain points, recommendations, and actionable insights
- I worked with a visual designer on the journey map design, making sure the journey map outlined and identified opportunities to win brand loyalty with the user experience
Results: Full-size posters of the journey map shared with product managers. Radio stations featured journey map posters in their offices for business stakeholders.

UX Writing Tasks / Design Thinking
I created this document to share with the content design & product design teams, to help with collaboration and communicate how UX writing and content design map to design thinking. I have a more detailed version to help with craft development for the content design team.

Creative Exploration / Content Breakdown
One way to show your thought process and brainstorming in content critiques is a content breakdown document. It's normal to be nervous about showing your work, so I describe content critiques as an opportunity to get a shot of creative confidence from other UX writers.

Content design workshop / Content audit
Getting the team together to do a comprehensive content design audit is a powerful way to identify areas to address, update, create, rewrite, or remove content in the end-to-end customer journey. This content design audit was conducted in FigJam.
